Ohai thurrr.

I have a few choice words for you.

Woah, a blog post?

What’s up party people?! I know I know, first blog post in months, well that’s about to change… again. The reason I haven’t posted in months or so is because well… there hasn’t really BEEN anything to write about. I was on the Android Market earlier looking at Apps to download and clog my phone with and then do nothing with (like usual) and it hit me; lets turn my blog into a Review blog of Android Market Apps. Among the Android App Reviews, I will talk about other things (life things, things, and stuff. You know how that goes.) so it is not all a review blog bashing apps left and right. With the app reviewing comes two things; Pros/Cons and the current rating on the Android Market as well as mine.

To start this off I will be doing two apps; FlyScreen and No Lock. These apps actually go hand in hand believe it or not. FlyScreen allows you to add Widgets to the lock screen on your Android phone! You can put things like your Twitter feed, Facebook feed, new texts, weather, news, and a calender.  The lock screen will look like this; http://www.gayakuman.com/uploads/2009/10/flyscreen.jpg. It will only look like this after unlocking your initial screen and then after FlyScreen’s app realizes you have opened your phone and it then fires up the FlyScreen lock screen. It is actually bad this way… It should disable that initial lock screen altogether, and it should do it as soon as you click your power button. Even then it does not guarantee FlyScreen will start up, great right? It takes a few locks/unlocks to actually get Lock Screen to realize, “Oh hey, I need to get to work and start up here.” which is a big set back. Not only does it do that, but the load screen for FlyScreen’s start up is a couple seconds of black screen, then your lock screens back round. This app is a really, really, really good idea. Like, if you didn’t want to unlock your phone to check the weather or text you just got, this would be what you need to use. But since the app does not flow correctly and cannot do what it needs to fast enough, it just does not cut the bar for the idea.

Current Star Review on Android Market: 4 stars out of 5.

My Review: 2.5 out of 5.

-Great concept.

-Great widgets to use with it.

-Not fast enough to work correctly, which hurts it a LOT.

My second review is of No Lock. No Lock is fairly explanatory, it obviously deals with some sort of lock. With this app you can turn the initial lock  on or off. This app partners with FlyScreen perfectly, right? Yes and no. It does do the job of killing the initial lock screen, but it still makes FlyScreen slow to load. It still takes that couple of seconds, which slows down whatever you needed to do by a couple seconds. Answering a phone, a text, etc. There is not much to say on this app because it just turns on or off your lock screen.

Android Market Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars.

My Review: 5 out of 5 stars.

-It actually does what it says without fault.

-Does not make FlyScreen move faster.
