My two days with Halo: Reach.

with one comment

So it has not actually been two whole days since Reach has come out, but still. My two days with Reach have been… different, and I actually enjoyed the different it brought to me. I was leaving the large frustration of a game that is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Noob tubes, Commando, One Man Army/Danger Close, spawn tubes in Hardcore Search, the lovely UMP.45, tryhards with the Intervention, and ridiculous lag. I ventured away from all of that to come to a new experience, well sort of new.

I played Halo 3 apparently 240 some games according to Bungie. I remember like… 5 of them. But apparently I played that much Halo when I had Halo 3. When it came down to it I actually did not like Halo 3. Then I picked up The Orange Box and played Team Fortress 2 on that for so many hours. I would say about 100+ hours was put onto that game from when I bought it up until I bought Modern Warfare 2. I currently have about 37 days played on Modern Warfare 2, a 10th prestige level 70, and enough skill to say that I am legit 10th. The prestige lobbies in Modern Warfare 2 had everyone that was a 10th at any point in time labeled as a 10th prestige hacker. Another thing I disliked about Modern Warfare 2 were the constant messages from 10 year olds saying, “Message to all friends and recent players my friend is hosting a 10th prestige lobby, 1600 microsoft points. Message me back for an invite.” Every 30 minutes I get about six messages saying that, and I wish I was kidding.

Anyhow, Halo: Reach has an incredible multi-player with an apparently short campaign. I have not finished campaign but I have played a ton of multi-player. When you first boot up your Xbox 360 and pop Halo: Reach in and you get past the title screen, you get to customize your Spartan/Elite. With customization you can buy armor, things to put on your helmet, among other things you can buy. You can put colors onto your Spartan/Elite, mine being violet and I believe green or a yellow. You have a wide variety in how you can create what type of emblem you would like, mine being a rooster with something behind it that makes it look like it is wearing a hat. Once you get done with that you get to look at what is the menu screen. Your choices are; Matchmaking, Campaign, Firefight and Theater, and more than likely Options/Settings.

Of course when I got home from the midnight release I came home did all that and went straight to Matchmaking. Being a Call of Duty person I had to of course figure out what the hell I was doing. I can know figure out when someone will get killed, and I do enjoy when someone starts shooting at me and I turn on them. For those of you who do not know what turning on means, it means when someone starts to shoot you from behind and you turn around and kill them. I cannot tell you how many times I have done this in Halo: Reach already. There are a bunch of game types including Slayer, Invasion, Big Team, and some others. I however really like to play the Free For All playlist (that is not what it is called but it is basically a Free For All every game.) because I can be by myself and not worry about my team taking my kills.

The biggest flaw I see with Matchmaking is one big thing: if you quit a certain amount of times for any reason besides network problems, you get temporarily banned from Matchmaking. This is incredibly weird and incredibly unneeded. Yes rage quitting is a problem but not when the problem is Bungie themselves. When I play the Free For All playlist I want to play Slayer, and not Oddball, Invasion, or any other game types. When the game type has been chosen you can only back out of that lobby when the game has started. So last night I kept getting things that were not Slayer so I kept backing out. Today I have been in danger of getting the temporary ban hammer basically all day. So I decided to go into Firefight because Firefight is really fun. I accidentally betray someone and they boot me. That boot temporarily bans me. This honestly is the only issue I have with Reach so far. The guns are balanced, and you can get kills by aiming at their head or just plain being smarter than them and out smarting them.

All in all: Grab this game if you are tired of Modern Warfare 2, a Halo fan, or just want something to pass the time for a little bit.

It is an amazing game that I can see myself playing for the next two months until Call of Duty: Black Ops comes out on November 9th.

The Internet, and you.

leave a comment »

Yes that is right boys and girls. This fancy little thingamajig we call, “the internet” is a dangerous place that is full of danger. Remember when your parents told you, “Never talk to strangers!”? Well, the internet is a big stranger danger. How so? Think about it. Someone could be watching your every move. Tracking every key stroke you make, and yes, people do do that. It is very creepy I know but it does happen. Along with password changing, email stealing, social networking phishing, and to an extent even virus sending.

There is also the biggest most important rule of the Internet that I think everyone needs to know, especially on Facebook. If you post it, the world is able to see it. What does this mean? If you post a picture of yourself naked on the internet, you had better expect the world to see it. If you do not want people to see a certain picture, do not be an idiot and post it. No one wants to hear you bitch after everyone calls you a dirty slut for posting a naked picture of yourself. It is common sense, and if you do not possess the common sense to not post naked pictures of yourself on the internet, then you actually should not be on the internet. You should probably be in school because you honestly should just be doing something productive besides doing something that can hurt you in the long run. That was not shot toward anyone in particular, maybe porn stars, but they enjoy being shown all over the internet.

Basically what I am trying to say is; the internet is not a toy, do not use it like it were a toy. It will end up screwing you over in the process. 4Chan or popularly known as /b/ is famous for showing you how much of a toy the internet is not.

Anyways, comment and subscribe if you like this or any of my other posts.

Black Ops classes! (stolen idea)

with one comment

Peter Schonert did this as a Facebook note and tagged me and a bunch of other people in it, so I thought I would do it as well! I have a blog and would rather post it on here than my Facebook page.

This is honestly how all of my classes will be set up with the same perks and kill streaks but different guns.

Killstreaks: Spy Plane, SAM Turret, Blackbird.

Primaries will be: FAL, AK-47, AK-74u, SPAS (although this class may switch out Hardened for Steady Aim), and FAMAS.

Secondary: Ballistic Knife

Equipment: Tomahawk

Perks: Ghost, Hardened, Ninja

I like to remain off the UAV/Recon Place/ Spy Planes when I play CoD only because I mainly play Hardcore Search and Destroy as mentioned before in an earlier blog posting last week.  Ghost will jeep me off the Spy Plane. Hardened is FMJ/Deep Impact, no need to explain that one to all of you. Lastly Ninja will keep my footsteps quiet so I will not get sound whored at all. My classes will definitely change in time, but for now I will probably run those for a good while.

Thanks for reading! 🙂

(150or so) Days of Us

leave a comment »

After watching “(500) Days of Summer”, again, it still makes me think of things from beginning of January until about the end of April. The main character Joseph Gordon Levett plays reminds me of, me. Someone who finds who they thought was someone who can be their everything. You meet them, and experience things with them and then BAM! They are gone from that special spot, because they found someone that they thought was better for them, even if they told you that they loved and cared for you. I am not going to say her name because if I am on good terms with her, and maybe she will read this, then again she may not.

To begin this story it starts back at the end of December, early January. I reconnected with an old classmate from Caesar Rodney. Yes, if you did not know I went to our rival school for about seven years of school. Kindergarten until the end of 6th grade. Anyways, I reconnected with her on Facebook and got her number and we talked, a lot. It had gotten to the point where we knew so much about each other and had begun the “talking” phase within a week. She was who I thought about all the time. She was that girl. We talked on the phone for an hour or two each night usually. It was honestly the best time of my life. The conversations on the phone where we talked about everything, to some nights talking about nothing. Those were the nights. We told each other we loved each other, and how bad we wanted to see each other. Even when texting back and forth. If there was something wrong over the phone and she was crying, I knew what to do to cheer her up. She never made the sounds that she was crying but, I just always knew she was crying.

So, what went wrong? You may be asking in your head. If you are not asking that in your head, well either way here is what went wrong. Nothing that I did made her do what she did. This was all her decision and I feel like she did what she felt was best. She wanted to start dating, but not me. I was heart broken, to tell you the truth. I had spent so much time talking to her, and just thinking about her that it was hard to get over her. But I did, get over her, no worries about that. She is now happy with her boyfriend, even if she is off at college and he is as well. I am happy for her, and happy that she has found someone to make her happy, like I had made her happy. We made an agreement to be really good friends after all that had happened. I agreed to it, but only because we had grown together as really good friends as well as a “something.”

It may seem like this was a pointless blog of sorts, but to be honest, this happens to us all. Whether we someday end up getting back with our “someone” or just never seeing them ever again. I wanted to share this with all of my readers and I have to ask, has this happened to you before? You do not have to share, but just, think about it. Comment about it if you would life to, and subscribe if you like my blogs.

Two quotes to think about, both are in the YouTube description of production company, “Wong Fu Productions.” They may not be quotes that you would see with famous names next to them but they do in fact have deep meanings. I will also put the video’s that they are in the descriptions of in case you would like to listen to the two songs. The first song is “When We Say (Juicebox)” by A.J. Rafael and the second song is “That Girl” by David Choi. Enjoy.

The first, “Love and relationships are never like the movies no matter how much we want them to be. But when something beautiful ends, for whatever reason, it’s most important not to be disappointed that it’s over, but glad that it happened at all.”

The second, “The ones we love tend to stay in our hearts and minds long after the relationship ends. While some move on quickly, others dwell and heal at a slower pace. Whatever the case, the thoughts, emotions and memories we experience during this time are heartwrenchingly powerful and real.”

Dark is the way, light is a place.

leave a comment »

If you know what that title means, you have come to the right place. If not, then let me tell you what that means. It is the new Anberlin album coming out September 7th. Let me tell you, it is their second best album in my opinion. The sound of the album is up beat, with the same lyrics you are used to from Anberlin. I recommend this album to those looking for new music, and to those who love Anberlin. Even if you liked the band better before their last album New Surrender, you will not be disappointed by Dark is a Way, Light is a Place. Below is the album cover and tack listing, plus the music video of “Impossible” off of the new album.

1. We Owe This To Ourselves

2. Impossible

3. Take Me (As You Found Me)

4. Closer

5. You Belong Here

6. Pray Tell

7. Art of War

8. To the Wolves

9. Down

10. Depraved

A recap of Apple’s recent press conference.

leave a comment »

Everyone knows the name that is Apple Inc, and the name of the man that is Steve Jobs. On Tuesday Apple held a press conference that showed all of their fall gadgets as usual. From iPod’s, to a new iOS firmware, new iTunes, and a revamped Apple TV. I am buying the Apple TV, that is how good it is. For months I have been Mr. Anti-Apple ever since getting my Android OS phone. I enjoy the full capabilities of my Android phone for all it is worth. But I digress, onto the new stuff!

The iPod’s I will make a list for all of them, and they all come out next week or later this month;

The Shuffle

  • Has buttons again.
  • Silver, blue, green, yellow, and pink are its colors.
  • It has a clip that clips to your belt, backpack, whatever you want it to.
  • Only 2GB which costs $50.

The Nano

  • The Nano is now a 1.5 inch touch screen design with a clip like the Shuffle.
  • Comes in colors such as silver, metallic gray, blue, green, yellow, pink, and Project (RED) at Apple Stores or online.
  • There are two sizes, 8GB for $149 or 16GB for $179.
  • Supports Nike + iPod.
  • FM Radio.
  • No camera anymore.

The Classic

  • There is really never any changes this to model.

The Touch

  • It still does everything the old iPod Touches can do but a little more.
  • Has the Face Time Camera like the iPhone 4 has.
  • Records HD video.
  • Game center.
  • Retina display.

The iPod’s made a huge part of the show. But what I will show you next, is probably Apple’s best product, ever, in my opinion, of course, comma.

Apple TV. I have wanted an Apple TV for the longest time because of how it worked, and all that fun stuff. It has just been an expensive thing to buy though, not anymore. Apple has slimmed and made the Apple TV less expensive by getting rid of the hard drive in it. You can now just stream everything straight from Netflix or your iTunes library. You can now rent TV shows, both standard definition or high definition, for $.99. You have a month from the purchase date to watch it, and when you watch it you have that rental for 48 hours. Netflix is just streamed like it would anywhere else, you just need to have your own account to Netflix. The new Apple TV also connects to your iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone to play movies, music, and show photos/videos. The Apple TV comes out next month for $99. This is basically a $150 price drop.

iTunes is also getting a new version, and was announced at this conference. All the new version has really is Facebook integration, which doesn’t even work anymore, so it is actually completely pointless… But the new iOS for the iPhone’s,  iPod Touches, and the iPad comes out in a couple of weeks. What can it do?

  • Stream audio, and files over Wi-Fi.
  • Multitasking.
  • Folders. I have no idea what goes into these folders, though.

Here are pictures of the iPod’s and Apple TV from the conference;
